Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder named her for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's mother and father also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder's parents relocated her and their children into Mendocino County California when Ryder turned seven. The family resided in an area without electric power. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days reading books as there was no television. Ryder, then 12, enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. Lucas the film, which was released in 1986 that she was in, was her debut major part. Ryder was only 15 at the time she was cast. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her high school years. She thought that by becoming an actor, her bullying could be reduced. Sadly that didn't happen. However, she pushed on with her goal. Her biggest break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue playing parts that proved successful in a variety of films.
